Medicare does not pay for assisted living. Families pay from savings and income, long-term care insurance, or benefits such as VA Aid and Attendance (estimate it). Who actually pays for long-term care.
Medicaid. Oklahoma's ADvantage waiver has an Assisted Living Services option that gives personal care and support services to ADvantage members in assisted living. Members ask for this option through their ADvantage case manager. The state links to a list of ADvantage-certified assisted living providers. The state Medicaid agency can confirm whether it pays for services in assisted living.
