Valley View Gardens

The activities that mom participates in are good. They always have something going on. She really likes the food there. I do feel like the management does contact us with information and from that perspective they do a really good job. I feel like we get a good value there.

I have been very pleased with this community. Some of the caregivers are better than others and Claudia is wonderful. The place is meticulous and always nice. It is always clean both outside and inside and the housekeeping is very good. The activities look good to me. The calendar is very comprehensive and they have a lot of different offerings. Management is very responsive and kind. We pay a lot of money but I think the value is reasonable.

We really loved it there and it was the first place we looked at. I thought they did a really good job. I would rate them high on the value they were able to deliver. My mother-in-law had a shared room and I think they were very considerate of the placement of her roommate. They placed her with the right person and that worked out well. The managmenet and front desk people were wonderful. They were very understanding with what we were going through and trying to accomplish with my mother-in-law. The rooms were clean and she always had clean clothes. The care staff were wonderful. They were always very kind and friendly to her. I thought they were great. They were like little angels.

We chose the community because they're excellent in Memory Care and the space, the garden area, my dad wanted an area like that. Inside is really big, it feels very large and spacious; we really liked the staff, and it was more affordable than the LA area where we live. My dad specifically said he didn't want to have a balcony; he wanted a big garden area. They provide everything, it's been great. The Director is awesome, we really like management. The staff keeps the place very clean and the healthcare staff is awesome, they really are. They're on top of it, they call when they need to, they don't overcall, they're very experienced, they communicate pretty well. They're usually available to speak with and Alicia, the Head Nurse, is awesome.

I think the activities, the liveliness, the community cleanliness, it's great, and my uncle is safe and comfortable there. I haven’t had any issues. My initial visit was excellent; there were a couple of ladies who started off the whole process who were excellent, very professional and informative. The other managers are very friendly and welcoming. The dining room is amazing, very spacious, and really nice. The building is really nice, internally it's clean, and the grounds are really nice. The caregivers are really nice and professional. I would recommend it, absolutely. I like the area, the location, the cleanliness, the appearance, the staff, and the garden. Love the garden, it's a nice setting. There's a spacious dining room, I'm happy with it.

I chose Valley View Gardens for my husband because it's close to my house, but more importantly it's a nice community. It's his 3rd community, but with the space he gets here and the quality of food, I'd say the value is excellent. Management has been very helpful. With moving there is always hiccups here and there, but every little thing that came up they helped with right away. With the dining experience, it's the best food he has ever had. It's appealing, smells good and he loves it. He used to ask me to bring him McDonalds, but he doesn't ask anymore. I was just at the Christmas party and they served a very nice meal that was very appetizing, so kudos to the Chef. My husband loves music and they do a lot of music activities, so he has been participating in them and you can tell the activity staff there gives it their best shot. Housekeeping services makes his bed every day and his room is kept clean, so I think they do a good job with that. Regarding maintenance, I spoke with management and we arranged it on a day that the maintenance was there, so they helped with installing it in that it's aesthetically correct and working. In general, they're doing upgrades and repainting around the community, so it looks very nice. With my husband's care, the caregivers are very well natured and very nice to him. It's a challenging group to deal with and in general I think they're doing a great job. They're coaching him better and instead of bathing once a week or once every 10 days, he gets 2 or 3 a week, so overall I have been satisfied with the experience thus far.

I chose Valley View Gardens for my mother because of the concept, it didn't feel so closed in like some of the communities that I toured and a lot of them seemed like hallways. So far, everyone has been very nice and the management is both, accessible and responsive to our needs. The value for my mother at the community is very good right now because they just had a flat price pretty much. The food is very good, we ate there last Saturday having fish and in general, I am satisfied with the menu variety that is offered to the residents. The Chef does an excellent job in coming out to talk with the residents and seeing how they're responding to her food, which is something that not all Chefs do, so to me it shows that she cares about what the residents think and that's good. The community offers activities are they're all well planned, entertaining and consistently offered. When you come in, the front desk staff reminds you of what activities are going on with the newsletter, which has been helpful. One of the things that I really liked about the community is that they have the gardens so that she is able to walk and the grounds are very well maintained, I haven't seen anything at the community that needed fixing. With her care, the medtechs have been just wonderful and they call me during the day, so it's been very satisfactory for our family. I definitely would recommend the community to others and already have.

My father was a resident there until his passing 10 years ago and he had such an outstanding experience that I immediately thought of Valley View when my neighbor who I have POA over needed a place. It is expensive but it is worth it. He is getting outstanding care. It is definitely worth every penny they charge for him. I have seen the calendar of activities which is terrific, everything looks great. Betsy, the director, just got awarded the Best in the Southland and she earned it. She is doing a great job. The building looks immaculate every time I am there. The gardens are beautiful. When I took him there he was having some psychological issues and they embraced him and worked with him through it. They were not overwhelmed by the challenges he presented them, they took it in stride. I was amazed and so grateful that I went there. Even though the adminstration is mostly new they are giving the same great care and that is testimonial to the corporation. I can't say enough good things about them.

Management at Valley View Gardens is very attentive and they always call me if there is any problem with the resident, which there have been several. They're very kind to the staff and residents, keeping them entertained and happy. The Activity Director does a very good job with keeping things planned for them and the housekeeper does a real good job, so I am really happy over there in terms of services provided. I met a guy from maintenance in the beginning with getting the resident's room painted the right shade of blue and hang pictures, so he was very helpful too. As far as the healthcare staff, the girls are very good with the residents over there, they're respectful, accessible and responsive to the residents, so overall it has been a good experience and I have taken my friends there to visit the resident.

Adrianna is the front office, first point of contact, and she is amazing. They have a really pretty garden area, one of the things that drew me to the facility was once you walk through the office, you walk through the garden, I like that they're not confined to just the building. I really like that it's open and accessible to them and I love the activities, they bring my mom out and make her do stuff and participate and she gets into it. I just really like that they always have something going on, they play bingo, do trivia, watch movies, play with a beach ball, go on walks around the gardens, they get her engaged in whatever is happening. Her room is clean, housekeeping has done a great job, and I’ve been really pleased. The healthcare staff has been good, they know her personality, what she likes, and they’re just invested in the people there so I really appreciate them.
