The Sheridan at Lakewood Ranch

It has been almost two years since my mother moved into the community. I think it is a fair value. The healthcare staff has been helpful. He seems to be overall happy there so I would recommend it.

The real winner is Bobbie Meyers, she is fabulous and very good with all of the residents. Kelly the new director, has really improved things. Brenda Hansen oversees the dining room and she does a really good job and she's trying to listen to the residents and make improvements. The staff is always engaging with the residents and you can just tell that they love their jobs. Ann and Betty are fabulous and are the special nurses that you need to keep on staff. Overall the staff is friendly, it's clean, it's beautiful, they really try to do a nice job with the residents and I'm really happy with my mom being there.

We recently signed my mother up at The Sheridan at Lakewood Ranch and we've been satisfied with the services and accommodations provided. The apartment she has is perfect for her and I like the way the bed is right off from the bathroom. Management is responsive, I am satisfied with the variety on the dining menu and they wash her stuff before it's even dirty. Maintenance hung our pictures and the healthcare staff have been very accommodating, they're open to changes with her medicine and they really try. I think everybody has been helpful, postive and they smile when they say hello So far, so good.

Both of my in-laws have moved in here, specifically for the services they offered for dealing with his dialysis. The transportation has been a big help, they take him and pick him up everyday and he has never been late. The staff is good about checking on his fluid intake and monitoring it. The care team has been working with the doctors and adjusting his meds. My mother in law didn't want to go there but after talking with Hope she moved in the next day. They have just been fantastic.

My dad is 101 years old and has been at Sheridan for well over a year and they have not raised the price at all. I'm very pleased with the services offered. The care staff has always been very helpful. I know they do his weigh-ins, which I appreciate because he had been losing weight. They're very good at keeping me apraised of what's going on. I've eaten in the dining room a couple of times and in fact for a while I was eating there once a week. I found the food to be quite tasty. Marcy, whom is in charge of the activities, does a good job and offers my dad to participate. He almost never does but I like the fact that there are things going on around him. I would absolutely recommend the Sheridan to others.

The staff are really encouraging and try to keep my mother-in-law engaged. Her room is always clean. The grounds are really nice. You can always find a caregiver even if they are helping someone else. Overall, it has been very nice for the price paid. It's all inclusive, so that's good.

We have had my mother there for about a year now and Betty and Tammy are super. The meals are always presented well and taste great. They have a lot of music that comes in there which is very nice. Cindy, the Activities Director, is very good and very enthusiastic. Housekeeping is good. They are doing really well, especially with the laundry. The guy in charge of maintenance is very competent. They are very courteous and they work well with the residents and the rest of the staff. I have, and will continue to recommend it.

I think my mom enjoys the activities a lot when she gets to do some. I think they are doing a really good job taking care of her in the Memory Care unit. The caretakers are good, I like them. Her room is clean, which I always appreciate.

They did a high tea yesterday and that was wonderful. I went today and there was a group playing Bingo and a group coloring. They always have a lot of activities going. They're starting a walking club and Mother loves walking. They used to bring them to horseshoes and it's little things like that that are very appreciated. She does do those group things and a week ago they went out to Chinese! I'm thrilled that she goes on those group things. The bus is great and looks wonderful. They feed them a lot, which I appreciate because mother will not eat much at meals. I think their variety is perfect. She's safe, and I don't have to worry about her.

My interaction with everyone indicates that they are very kind, conversational, and take the time to get to know my dad. He did have some issues with his AC getting his curtains and other things wet when hurricane Irma came through. They promptly moved him to an apartment across the hall temporarily. The staff came and moved furniture for him. He literally walked across the hall and stayed there for a couple weeks. It was a very easy situation for us. I feel like it is a good value for the services and care he is getting. My dad only participates in a couple each week, but that's his choice. There's a lot going on. Every time I come in there is a lot going on. There seems to be a lot of variety. For the stress free element of his life at this point, it's worth a lot.
