The Sheridan at Lakewood Ranch

My philosophy has been you get what you pay for and so far we are. The service has been exemplary, the medical care has all been first class. He is very happy with his apartment. He ended up with a corner unit and has windows on both side and there is plenty of storage. Everything that has been promised to us has been met. We haven't had any major issues and any minor ones have been addressed. The food is excellent as is the atmosphere and service with dining. Based on the schedule I have seen the activities are good. Everybody does a good job with the housekeeping. He says the service he gets here is a definite step up from where he used to be. There are always people cleaning and making sure the community looks nice. The care staff is doing a terrific job so far. We were very impressed at how well prepared they were when we got dad there the first day. They knew what his health history had been and already had a service plan. That was great. He is very impressed with them and they give him a lot of attention.

Everyone is pleasant, approachable and seem very caring. The building seems clean and maintained, my dad's laundry seems to be fine and his room is clean as well. My dad needed maintenance once and it was handled promptly.

We were very pleased with it, we compared the community to one down the road and we think the design, the colors and everything make it very bright and there's tons of closet space which is important to them. My mom's apartment was very clean and her clothes were done, they were right on top of it. I have nothing but good things to say about the maintenance crew, they went over and beyond everything that we wanted, every little thing we needed, they were there, they were very very good. The meds were given on time, they were ordered like they should be. The aides were excellent, she really misses them.

It is a good value for the money and my dad's apartment is good. Management is very nice, friendly and helpful. They always answer the phone and connect me to where I need to go. The food is very good and there is a nice variety. It seems like the staff really work hard at doing things and activities. They get the residents involved in the activities. The few times we have needed maintenance, they were very helpful. The caregivers are really helpful and are great with my dad. They keep on top of his medications and for the most part they seem to care.

My parents moved there about a year ago, and they are safe and comfortable there. They like the two days a week musical entertainment they get. My dad really enjoys the activities. They both enjoy cocktail parties and the poker club. The activities are engaging and good. The building seems well-maintained and I think the laundry service is okay, it’s fine. The price is high, but I think there's some value there, the price is fair. Some of the staff there is amazing. Bobbi at the front desk is incredible. She is the most helpful person and she looks after my mom and dad, she's a real jack-of-all-trades. She is a true testament to how much the staff cares about the residents. She knows everybody's name, she's a good employee, and she’s just amazing.

My mom chose this community because she liked the people and we felt like they were really trying hard to earn our business. It is a good location for us. Management speaks to the residents and remembers their names. I felt like they really wanted our business and was willing to do what they needed to do to make it a comfortable place for my mom. I think the food is very good and the quality and variety is good. This community has a ton of activities. Housekeeping is doing a great job and her apartment is clean. The maintenance guy is doing a great job. He is very friendly and is very quick. The building is very nice. The caregivers are very responsive and they call me. She has fallen four times since she moved in and they handled it really well. Her caregiver is great. She comes in and checks on her. Things are going well at this community for my mom.

I had called one of their other properties that had referred me to The Sheridan, my mom is on 24/7 oxygen and The Sheridan was certified for the 24/7 oxygen so I made an appointment and immediately had a good feeling about the place. I checked reviews online and it just seemed like a place where mom would be comfortable, safe and well taken care of. Right from the beginning I dealt with Hope, the Sales Director, and the first thing I try to find out is the longevity of the employees and everyone from Hope to Shannon has been there almost from the beginning when the facility opened two years ago so to me that speaks volumes. Everyone that I've dealt with has been very patient. They’ve gotten answers for me and any hiccups we had were taken care of immediately. Housekeeping does a thorough job and her laundry is always folded and put away for her nicely. Her main aide, Betty, is just amazing, they take care of mom; I couldn't ask for any better, it's a relief for me to know people actually care for her. She just gets very good care, they're all very patient, kind and respectful. Mom is happy, she really feels like she's at home there.

My parents have told me how much they love the management there. The head person mom and dad are just in love with and she's doing a fantastic job. My mom and dad love the happy hours and they've expanded them to 3 happy hours a week now. My dad really likes the maintenance guy who has been very helpful and kind to dad. My mom has fallen and has hit her head multiple times and God bless the nursing staff there because they've tried to help manage this as best as possible. The bus driver is very kind and helpful. This is my mom and dad's home and they say that over and over again.

It is a good value. It is a complicated business but this is a really well run facility. The Sheridan is doing a good job. The room is always clean and the laundry is done. The place is perfectly maintained and it is clean.

Everything going very well over here. We are very happy with our apartment and we are very happy with the service we are receiving. Since we moved here everything has been in excellent condition. Cleaning of the apartment has been excellent. The community does the laundry. They pick it up in room and deliver clean and ironed. We are very happy with that also. We are completely satisfied. We have excellent care from the medical staff.
