Pointe at Kirby Gate

Management is engaged with not only the residents, but also the families. They know the families just as well as the residents and they greet you when you walk into the community. All the food is made from scratch and the staff are attentive to the residents allergies, likes and dislikes. They have such a variety of activities here. The maintenance man is awesome and, anytime I have a question about something, he is right there. The caregivers keep me informed on everything. For what she gets, I think the price is great. I am glad that my mother is here

The place that we came from was a little bit higher and they weren't as good. This is our fourth place and this is probably the best for our money. The management is communicating much better then the previous place and they are very, very timely too. The maintenance is really good and the care givers have helped my dad a lot.

It's a homey atmosphere, they do a great job with meals and the staff cares, which is what really matters. The Activity Director dresses up and treats each one of them like family, so he brings happiness to them all. The maintenance man is wonderful and transportation has been a big help. It's like family over there and I am just happy I found the community as quick as I did because I have been extremely pleased.

Every aspect of the place is ran very professionally. The food has always been hot, tasty, healthy and well rounded. The activities are appropriate for the residents and I think they have the best activity director in town. They have musical entertainment on Friday afternoon and different events every day. They go out of their way to make sure the residents are all taken care of.

She thinks they have good food. The care givers do an excellent job, there are no safety concerns. I know having all the staff there, the caretakers, 24/7 care is expensive, but they do a good job.

They care about what they're doing and they take good care of the residents, which is pretty important, so the care is strong because of strong individuals. The food is good and my mother likes it, so it's been an excellent experience overall.

The new Director has been accessible since she came on and they have an excellent activities director who encourages people like my mother who have Dementia to come down and participate. Everytime I visit, her bed is made, her clothes are picked up and her room is neat. The caregivers are really attentive.

We have only been there for two months but I am really happy with this community. This community knocks it out of the park with their food. One of their biggest stars is the kitchen. Tony, in activities, is the lifeblood of this community. He keeps everybody engaged and that is really nice. The maintenance is very good. You call the maintenance man and he comes. He has a lot of places to be but he doesn't drop the ball on anything. My dad has a lot of things that the caregivers had to pay a lot of attention to after his surgery and they have done great.

There’s a lot of things I like about the Pointe. It's small, you get to know everyone, they get to know you, and they're personable. My aunt is safe and comfortable there. The dining room is attractive and the food is just fine. I think the maintenance is pretty good. They have an Athletic Director and he does exercise with them, all the fun things. He's a wonderful decorator out there. He can take aluminum foil and write words on the wall. He hangs pictures and does a lot. I think everything has been fine. Mama will have been there four years tomorrow. Her room is absolutely appropriate for her. All the rooms are single but for one double, one of the ladies passed away and the other hates to be alone, so they came to mom and asked her to move in, because mama is so happy. It's perfect now, the perfect fit. When mama lived alone in a room hers was the one they always showed people on tours. It was fixed up so nice and she always welcomes visitors. Toni, the Activities Director for Assisted Living is wonderful. Michelle, the Activities Director in Memory Care does appropriate things with the residents. She just brought in a book of eight by ten black and white photos from their era. They have nice activities back there, and the front is also wonderful. Every Friday they have a band come in. We spoke to one of the musicians and they don’t go to other places, they're friends of Toni. If mama doesn’t show up for the music, they make sure to go get her. The dining is wonderful. My sister and I call ahead to tell them we'll be there to eat with her after church. The food is delicious. The staff is so wonderful, nice, and kind. They serve the food so kindly. It's balanced and nutritional; mom just eats it all up. Oh my gosh, the nurses and aides are so wonderful to mama. They call mama 'Our Princess.' Mama always dressed nicely and wore jewelry and they always make sure she is bathed and dressed and feels good. Mama says they're beautiful all the time, this is a great place. They get her down to the beauty shop there every Friday to get fixed up before the band comes. I just met the new Director, and I don’t know her well. The managers are always around. My sister calls and they are responsive and help us out. We had an issue a few months ago and man was it resolved quickly. The deal with stuff and they tell you like it is. I have always liked the staff. Meredith, the financial lady, I told her the other day if she ever quits I will hunt her down and drag her back, she's so on the ball. Mama has long term care insurance and they have to coordinate things and we never have to worry about it. She is so knowledgeable we never have screw-ups on our bills. I am very satisfied with housekeeping. It always spotlessly clean, her trash is taken out, her laundry is done. They are just wonderful. I like Ken; he's the new maintenance man there. The Memory Care Director used to be the fix-it guy, but now they have a maintenance man who is always bright and cheery and gets things done. He is there to help and everything is in good repair, nothing is broken. The price is comparable and we more than get our money's worth. The best Activities Directors, food, and nurses around. They have been wonderful to our mother. You don’t know how good it is to have peace of mind. She has always recommended it; we recommend it, and a few people we've recommended it to have gone on to move in there.
