I haven't had any problem with the management. Everything has been smooth for me. There are so many activities that I don't even begin to do them all. I have my own family here in Charlotte so I don't do all the activities. I do enjoy the exercise things.

I am satisfied with the value. The price is worth it for me because I don't have to do anything. I have a nifty apartment. I have one of the one bedroom apartments that has a large living room. We are right in the middle of renovations and our top manager is running to keep up with everything. She is doing the best that she can. The food is good and it is pretty well rounded. It is nutritious and the servers do a good job. This community has music for us on a regular basis and they try to do a lot of activities. I am satisfied with them cleaning my apartment.

The other communities we looked at eight months back; I think Merrywood is by far the best cost-effective place for my parents. They don’t use the assistance from care givers, but once mom had trouble breathing in the bathroom and they recognized that and got her an ambulance, that was good. The Executive Director over there now seems up-to-date on things going on. I think the activities are good. Meals are nicely prepared and mom and dad seem to be enjoying them. The wait staff is outstanding. They are very pleasant, take care of them, nice attention to detail, and always have a smile on their face. Housekeeping does a regular and very thorough job cleaning the apartment. Maintenance takes care of various issues. They're reactive, informative, and I think they're spot on any time mom or dad has an issue or problem. I am sure they're improving the building, they're painting right now and they plan to replace the carpets. The entryway is so nice. I would recommend it to others, and have. I am very satisfied with the value. The price is very fair for the services and the amount of space in their apartment. They feel safe and they're comfortable as much as they can be.

I think Heather and everybody else in management, does a very good job. They are very friendly. The quality of the food is good and I like several of the activities. The transportation is very consistent and good.

The service in the dining room is excellent. I participate in some of the activities and I like them very much.

We moved my dad in for the location, it was clean, I liked the size of the rooms available and the fact they offered breakfast, lunch and dinner. The layout is fine, he has more than enough space, he's happy. My dad had his own patio and there were other activities there for him. Blake was the only that sat down with me and asked me what my father wanted, she took her time and was very understanding, she wasn't pushy or aggressive, she was very accommodating and I like that she's not in her office, she's out with the other residents. They have a ton of activities, yoga and church. The housekeeping has been good, his room is clean, the housekeeper was very nice and introduced herself to me.

If you meet with them the management they would answer your questions. The servers in the dining room worked hard and were friendly and I miss their wonderful grits. They provided wonderful outside activities. My Church is about three blocks down the street and they always drove me. That was wonderful. The housekeeping was good and maintenance always came and did what you asked them to do. If you couldn't be in your apartment when they came, they would come in if you gave them your permission. That was wonderful that you didn't have to sit around and wait. The transportation is a huge help for when you no longer drive. They took you to a shopping center, Walmart and other stores.

If I have a question or I need an explanation, the director is more than happy to stop what she is doing. I think she is a very good Director. She is very intelligent and personable. I really think the chef goes out of his way with getting people's opinions. He listens and he tries extremely hard to please us. For example: today on our menu we have jello and one man has complained about wanting jello for so long and I am sure he is going to be a happy camper. We said in the past that we would like more fresh fruit and he tries to accommodate us in the seasons. The servers are very, very good. They get to know my name and what our favorite drinks are. They are like family that wants to help you at dinner. I have joined the jewelry making and I am also taking art classes, which is something I have always wanted to do and now I have the opportunity to. John, the lead individual in transportation, he is the most helpful. He really watches out for the elderly people who have difficultly climbing, he hold our hand so we don't slip. He takes care of the car doors and puts the cart away so we don't have to do that.

My wife and I feel safe and comfortable here. They do an excellent job with transportation. The man in charge, Sean, is excellent. That's why we're here, because we're both 94, and no longer drive. They have an excellent situation for driving. They take us where we want to go when we want to go. It’s very nice. Vehicle is in very good shape. There are lots of activities and they're very good.

I am very satisfied with management; they're doing their job very well. The food is very good here and there’s variety on the menu. There's quite a bit of in-house activities and on Saturdays they take some of us out for lunch. Housekeeping is very good. They come once a week and do a good job. Maintenance takes care of everything they need to. I’m safe here and comfortable, everything is fine here.
