Lake Barrington Woods

Overall, I'm happy and my mom is happy there. I've eaten there a couple of times with my mom and the food is really good, the wait staff too. Mom does the activities, so I would say they're good. It gets her out of the room, and she really likes the music. She gets on the bus to go to Wal-Mart. She doesn’t have any problems with it, they're watchful. I think the caregivers do a good job, and I don’t have any problems with management, but I don’t have to deal with them too much. My wife usually handles that, but I think they're fine. The place looks clean, and I'm sure her laundry is getting done. To me, I'm not worried about mom being there, so the value is good, she's comfortable. I look at all the other people, the residents all seem happy there, and I know my mom is safe.

It is just what she needs. It is a nice community for her to be in. For what she gets, her rent, meals and everything, it is fine. The apartment is very good for her. I am so happy that they are redoing the whole building, it is going to be so clean and fresh. They say the variety in the dining room is good and there are things to choose from. When we did go down to activities they were very nice. She loved playing bingo, whammo and crafts. Merica is the best. She is a wonderful person with doing things with the people. The housekeeper that we have is very good. She does what we ask, comes every Thursday and very seldom misses. Overall, she is very good here.

It is the best value in the area for what we pay. Every time I call and request something with management they take care of it. Everything is great with the dining department and my mom is gaining weight. I have to buy her new clothes. I don't think the activities could get more perfect. My mom does everything they ask her to. They have all kinds of things for her to do. She has gone on the outings and the vehicles seem to be very well maintained. The apartment is always clean. Anytime I need things for her the care staff is always there for me. Even when it is the nursing director’s day off she will get back to me. The whole time she has been there everything has worked fine.

I am very happy and content here. The management staff is very helpful and courteous to the residents. There are a lot of activities to choose from and I choose to do a lot of them. I really like my lady that does my house cleaning. We have become friends. I am satisfied with the maintenance service also.

I have been recommending it and I highly recommend it. I know people who have had family live there in the past and they all raved about the location. The management takes care of the needs of their residents in a professional way and try to be as accommodating as possible. They have been very responsive. The apartment always looks clean and immaculate. I am very impressed. The housekeeping staff is also very trustworthy. The facility is very accommodating for her needs. If she has a guest coming they are very accommodating with the food. I know she is really involved and enjoys the happy hours. She is always inviting us to the family events that she has. She is very comfortable there. Her apartment is safe and it has a nice view and it is a comfortable size.

Lake Barrington Woods appears well-managed from the top. Maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry are good, and the caregivers are easy to find and responsive. The community is very clean. The price is average, so the value is good and everybody's friendly.

Management is caring, competent and professional. My brother likes the food and the service is good. The activities director is just incredibly competent and comprehensive. There is always something for the residents to do. The housekeeping is excellent and the laundry is fine. Rachel cleans his room and she is very competent and dependable. Recently, my brother had a defective lock on his door and a drawer in the bathroom wasn't working properly. Within a few hours both were repaired. I hope they keep up the good work.

I think Lake Barrington is a really good place and we feel safe having my dad there. The management is excellent. Mike, the director, is phenomenal. Mike works with you, he's attentive, he's responsive when you ask him for things, and he’s just the best I've ever seen. The nursing and accounting departments are very good as well. Maintenance is great, they get there very quickly when you call and are always timely and they do a really good job, very friendly and offer to help with things all of the time. They do a good job with the housekeeping and laundry services.

My mom recently moved in here and she really likes it. The food is really good and there are so many activities to partake in. The ones for my mom is the church, the rosary, and the music. When I go to visit, the apartment is usually really clean. They do the vacuuming, they clean up, they do the laundry, and they are very considerate of my mother and very kind to her. She is making friends with the staff as well. She took a trip on the bus and went to the dentist. The driver was very kind and considerate of her. He went to the door and helped me with her. By the end of the ride we were all singing in the bus. They care very much for her. They ask how he is doing. She always has a visitor like a nurse or something and I think that is wonderful.

I have lived here for five years and the management team we have now are the best we've every had. I am very pleased with the selections given to us in the dining room. There are seven selections each night so you can find something. I have a really good gal doing my housekeeping. When you contact maintenance they are very responsive and transportation has been perfect. I think this place is great.
