Lake Barrington Woods

My mom moved in about a year ago and has been very satisfied with all of the services. We haven't had any issues. It's been a good fit.

My mother-in-law really enjoys being there, she likes all the activities, and she likes the daily change in schedules. She very much enjoys the monthly talks the manager has. She really likes the horse races, the Bingo, and the monthly birthday celebrations. There's always something new they come up with. We love that once a year family event where they serve food outside on the patio and play music. When she calls, maintenance comes right up and helps her out. She has used transportation every once in a while and has said that's fine. It's been a great thing for her.

I think it's a better value than other communities we looked at. My mother wants to stay as long as she can. She does enjoy having the same caregivers attend her all the time. The activities are pretty good. She participates in a number of them. I think the social programming is actually pretty good. She goes down every Sunday to the chapel there for services. My mother has used the maintenance a number of times and they are always responsive. The new owners are doing a lot of freshening up and they'll be starting a major remodel. They're on top of things.

I've lived at the community for about a year now and activities are great. They always have something interesting on Sunday afternoon. My housekeeping is very good. Every Thursday they come, they do a good job. I'm blind so I can't tell, but I know they do based off what other people say The ladies in the care team are good too. The building maintenance has always been good to me too. I'm very happy with the staff.

I feel my dad gets a lot of good care. Here, they bend over backwards to make sure you're happy. Mike, in management, is great and is really good at follow-through. I have been just very happy. We haven't had any issues that were not resolved. I have been just very happy.

Mike, the Executive Director, is pretty good. They've been really flexible and really try to accommodate her needs. Also they're great, especially Pam, with communicating with me. Maintenance is awesome. We appreciate that they go out of their way to accommodate the seniors. Whether it's pushing a remote button or rehanging a blind, they're excellent. All in all, I think everything has been good and my mom seems comfortable living at the community.

Her apartment is a good size. It's one of the better places in the area. I think there are great things available, activities wise, even if my mother doesn't take advantage of most of them. They keep it very clean throughout the building. They respond when we ask for something regarding any maintenance issues. The caregivers are very, very good and I'm happy. Overall it's a very good place.

I think it's a pretty decent value. We've only had some minor questions or issues and the management resolved them pretty quickly. The food quality is excellent. The servers are fine. There is something going on every time I'm in there. They have a wonderful maintenance staff. They have always fixed anything we needed. They're updating right now and it's gorgeous. They're very on top of things. I think the care staff is great, they've always contacted us right away if anything happens, which I think is great.

The Management is great. My mom likes the food there. She's in all the bridge groups, does bingo, Wii Bowling, and the piano. Housekeeping is very good. I think that given everything she's getting, how happy she is, and how much they've helped me out, she's getting a great value. You can’t put a price tag on something like that.

My best friend lived here so I always came over here to visit. When my kids told me I needed to move to an assisted living, I told them that I wanted to move here. They are all good. The maintenance people are so good. They are really trying to keep the building up. All my caregivers are terrific. They do everything for me. They are very good.
