The Haven at Springwood

One of my mom's buddies at the table tells us that she eats everything on her plate, so she loves the food and she eats well. In fact, we may be talking to the Doctor about things because she is putting on weight. She loves the activities and she does quite a few things. She loves the arts & crafts or they'll setup a movie to watch and she watches them with residents. She always liked watching animal movies with her grandchildren, so she loves that. Anytime she has an issue, someone has always helped her and they tell her they don't want her to clean stuff up and instead to tell them to clean it up. Transportation has been good with it and I haven't had any problems. All in all, we are happy to have her there.

The maintenance man was there the day we moved in and he was great. I think the food is well prepared and looks good. The bathrooms compared to other places I looked at are very nice and spacious. The building itself is great and has wide hallways and looked to be a pleasant place to live, which is one of the main reasons I chose it for my mom.

I chose The Haven at Springwood because it was reasonably priced, it was close to the hospital and it didn't feel as though it was an institution or hospital it seemed more of a place my sister could make her home. She's going on a field trip this week and I know she's been painting, there are pianos around and she's a musician, she's got her guitars and they've talked about practicing and performing. The caretakers are very good with informing us of anything going on. They do a great job with her room and they pick up her laundry before she even realizes it's gone and already done. We have a sense of relief because she's in a place where she can't harm herself.

I think my mother-in-law's nurses are exceptional. If she has any problems, somebody is always there to address it. If something happens I get a phone call right away. Service with the dining staff is very good. She has told me on many occasions that she's very glad she's there. If there's ever a problem or a request I know who I can go to and it's taken care of. Sheila, who is basically the top person there, is very easy to talk to. They really work hard there to help her out.

My mom has been at the community for a little over three years now. The building itself looks pretty good. Although she is not one to participate in the activities, I think there is a good variety for her to choose from. I think the care staff is generally good. Overall the stay has been good.

My brother did the research and the place put both of us close to mom and dad. The people there are just super, the room is very nice and there were several other reasons for moving them in. They are doing exercising, bingo and they had a mass the other day. They seem to stay fairly active. The building is very nice and I haven't seen anything that would tell me it's not being kept up. From everything that I see regarding the care staff, I am very satisfied. People speak all the time and just yesterday the girl coming in for her night shift came to check on my parents.

Management and the activities are wonderful. The dining staff is also great. The healthcare staff is very good. They have great personalities and if you push the button, they come right away and help you with your problem. I haven't needed any maintenance, but they seem to be working all the time. I like it here very much.

My mother feels very safe. The pricing is pretty on the dot. They do a lot for her. She is very convenient to the cafeteria and the common room. Her bathroom is two times bigger than she needs. She does a lot of the Bingo type things, which is good. She has it very good there.

The management staff is very good and very involved. They were very helpful getting me oriented and helping my mom get settled in. They were compassionate and reassuring. Sheila is amazing. The caretakers are very caring and treat the residents very well. It feels very much like family in there. They are very prompt on calling me about any changes or notifying me before they contact her doctor. I don't have to worry about anything slipping through the cracks. I'm very happy with them. They're starting to have more family involved events around the holidays, and that's very nice. We enjoy that.

It looks like a place I'd like to live. I would recommend it in a heartbeat. The little interaction I've had to have with the management has been great. The incoming process was good. They do a really good job of hiring good people. They are like a family there. She is always very happy, and she is never hungry. She is eating very well and enjoying her meals. The activities people are good. They are getting her involved in stuff so she doesn't just lie in bed and sleep all day, which makes me happy. The whole property looks very nice. Everything always seems very clean and well maintained. The care staff is very good. They call to keep me updated on everything. They are very informative.
