Harbour Senior Living of South Hills

It seems like the activities are pretty good. The new activities director has been trying new things. When I have been there my loved one does the activities and has fun doing them. As far as getting the clothes clean, that is fine. The building seems to be fairly well maintained and the upkeep is consistent. It appears there are things that are new and redone. There was one incident where a shelf had to be fixed. They did it without us asking for it to be done. Her room has been fine.

Harbor is the best of the best, but my sister wants to live at home, so we reluctantly moved her out. Everything that I saw in my entire time visiting I would say was quite nice. They seemed to be right on top of everything. The managers are fantastic. They explained the care, the environment, the programs, and the residents. Evie is awesome. , she was very attentive to my sister's needs, and listens to what we had to say. Same with Kelly, she explained what was offered, as well as Jennifer and Michelle. The dining rooms was nice, it was real plates, silverware, and napkins. It was real food, which smelled and tasted good. My sister always found something to eat down there. My sister did go to the Fall Harvest event on the 22nd. She came down for the ice cream social and one of the Hawaiian luaus. The staff was good at urging her to join the activities. We pointed out a couple things before moving in and maintenance took care of that. We had a couple of issues and they took care of it. We had a massive rain storm, leaking in the closet, and they fixed that. They did what they needed to do in a timely fashion. Trash was emptied, housekeeping worked on her room and cleaned the bathroom and did the laundry regularly. It was done quickly and efficiently. Everyone we spoke to was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t thank them enough for what they did for my sister. Day shift, 2nd shift, even 3rd shift, I saw them come in to do the checks, and they came when my sister called for help. They did what they needed to do. I thought the caregivers always came in a timely fashion. Always helpful and kind, always had a smile, and always said hi to me, my wife, or my brother. They did a good job making her bed. I would absolutely suggest Harbour as the optimum place to go.

We took a tour and liked what I saw and it was close to my home, so we moved my mom in. I think it is a good value for the care she is getting. I my opinion mom is much safer living here than at home by herself. I have had lunch there and I liked it. They give them good nourishing meals. The activities are great. They bring in musical acts and mom enjoys tapping her foot to the music. The woman who does the housekeeping for my mom's room is wonderful. They change her bed and clean her room and do a wonderful job. The care staff is very caring and loving. I can't ask for anything more. They are good about calling me with anything that I need to know.

We chose this community for Mom because I wanted some place that was a personal care home not a nursing home. I had heard the staff was really nice here and that hey had lots of activities. The management staff have all been very responsive in helping work out the little kinks that you have when moving in somewhere. The dining department offers a lot of variety. If you want something different they will cook it up for you. The housekeeping department keeps the place very clean. The laundry services picks up the laundry on Sunday and bring it back on Monday like they say they will. Even the other staff of people like med techs if they see a trash can that needs to be emptied they just do it. Things don't sit around waiting for houskeeping they take care of it right then. I have seen the care they give her. The medicines get changed as the doctor orders. When they change shifts they make sure to go over what has happened during the day. I call them at 9:30-10 at night and they don't mind to go and check on mom. They have been really terrific. The building is gorgeous. They just finished putting a new roof on it. The flower arrangements both inside and out are beautiful. They groundskeepers do a good job on the outside. It is very attractive.

We are very happy with her here. The management was very accommodating with us while we were deciding to move Mom in. She has no complaints with the food and is being well entertained with the activities. The housekeeping and maintenance departments have been helpful to her as well. The compassion she has received from the care staff has been great. They are spot on with her medication management.

I have been satisfied with the services and accommodations provided to my uncle and mother-in-law at Harbour Senior Living of South Hills. He likes it there and when he asked to move rooms, they didn't give him a hard time or anything. We get the schedule for the month regarding activities and there is always something going on, Rebecca is wonderful with trying to find new things for them so that the residents aren't bored. I have no problems with the housekeeping, they're nice and if you're busy in the room they will respect that and come back. The community just redid their parking lot and the maintenance man was really nice with moving my car for me because my uncle had a Doctor appointment, so I appreciated that. Overall, they have a fantastic group there and they're very good at doing their job, so I love the place.

My mother has lived here for over 2 1/2 years and during that time she thinks the food has been good. She really enjoys the music offered with the activities. They are currenlty having a Mass service there that she enjoys. The housekeeping department does a good job of keeping her apartment clean. The ones that are in charge of mother are very caring and responsive to her needs.

Mom’s been there about half a year, and the management is very accessible and responsive, the care staff is outstanding, and she's satisfied with maintenance. Housekeeping seems to be very efficient and mom's apartment is clean all the time. I think the food is good overall, nutritious, wholesome, and a little bland, but given the population that's safe. The transportation service is outstanding, mom is comfortable there as well as safe, and they seem to offer a lot of activities.

My parents live at Harbour Senior Living of South Hills and we think the value is good. Management is respectful and knowledgeable, my parents love the dining and it seems like every day that have at least 4-5 different activities going at the same time. In terms of cleanliness, the housekeeping is pretty good overall and the maintenance is upkept, they just did the parking lot and a lot of painting to spruce everything up at the community.

My dad seems to be happy there, the staff seem to be very engaging. The person I dealt with when moving him in, Kelly, she seems to know every resident there. All the workers do their best. My dad really loves to play bingo and the new director works very hard to include all the residents in the activities. He seems to really like the food here and has gained weight since he moved in. They keep his room very clean and fantastic looking. I can call them up at any time and ask them a question and if my father has any problems they will let me know.
