Harbour Senior Living of South Hills

We visited various ones and it was highly recommended, after visiting we just felt it was the best for my mom. The Director was wonderful, she answered all our questions and was very friendly. Everything is good in terms of dining, there hasn't been any problems. I like that they will make something different for her if she doesn't like what they're having. Everything seems clean, there's never any odors or anything.

Knowing all the other places and prices, I feel the value here is very fair. The care staff is on top of things. Any change in Diana they call me and they follow any of the rules that I direct because I am her POA. Everybody is doing the best they can. The dining service is great. They are really good with everybody.

I chose this community for my mom because it's nearby and the place that she was in did not provide a level of care that is consistent with what Harbour has. Once I saw the place I was much more pleased with seeing how happy the residents were as well. My mom is doing very well and I'm very pleased. My mom has done a 360 degree turn around from where she had been before and I can't say enough about the care that she receives. The care staff has been very good with my mother. The women that I've encountered, Dorothy, Dee and Pebbles, they're all excellent. I'm quite pleased with the activities as well.

We love this place. I just can't say enough about Harbour. It's a beautiful building, it's really homey there. It's really a lot about the workers and they really are the heart of the place. I feel that they really care about the residents there and it really shows. Housekeeping keeps the place really clean. There are never have any smells, it always smells clean and looks clean. They're right on the spot if someone has an issue. I feel that the healthcare people genuinely love my mom. There are always a special few. When they didn't see me coming down the hall I saw one of the caregivers give my mom a hug and a little kiss on the head, it's the little loving things for my mom and I couldn't ask for better care than that, they are very caring people. I do find it is an excellent value.

My mother gets really good care here. The best part of it is I feel like she is safe when I am not there. I think overall the staff is really good. They go out of their way to help residents and family. They do a great job. I have been really impressed with them. The activities are appropriate for the residents that live there. My mom takes part in most of the activities. Mom's room is always clean. If she has an accident they come to help right away. The laundry is good. Things are sorted out and put away appropriately. She has moved several times and the maintenance staff has always helped me get her bed put back together. The staff overall has done a great job. I had to move her to the third floor and it has been a really good experience.

The nurses are great, they take very good care of my mom. The activities are also great. My mom loves going to play bingo and she's doing more things like watching movies. In terms of dining, she loves the breakfasts, if she could eat breakfast all day long that's what she would do. My mom is well taken care of and I don't worry at all. They've called anytime there has been any type of problem. I'd move in there myself if I could.

Kelly Paris, the Marketing Director, she is tremendous and is absolutely delightful, engaging and knowledgeable about each resident. She's the shining star of that facility. Alexa has been given a very challenging role, however I do feel like she is able to manage it well and really does her best. They do a tremendous job with the activities and engage everyone that is there and encourage them to participate. I’m very pleased with the activities. Pebbles is also one of their star employees. Overall Harbour Senior Living of South Hills has been a great blessing for us and our family.

Harbour seemed like the right size and atmosphere for my mother, I think the value is similar to other places we looked at; we chose it because it was a little smaller and seemed to be a little more personal. She was also able to have her own private room in this facility, which was wonderful, so I'd say that the value is good. Management has been very helpful and forthcoming with information and the food seems to be very good. It's a beautiful building and I'm very happy they provide mass services for her. The healthcare staff seems to be always available and checking in, we're very happy with just about everything there, everyone is very cordial, polite and helpful, always asking if we need anything.

I think the cost at Harbour Senior Living is reasonable. They have a calendar of activities and they are fine. I think that some of the caregivers are very good.

Overall, I think the building is clean. The maintenance staff has improved and has been more responsive lately. For the most part I am satisfied with management and dining.
