Harbour Senior Living of South Hills

The number one thing that drew us to the community was location and we were familiar with the property. Management allowed us to move mom in quickly, they’ve been very good. They have a lot of activities, they went to a picnic, there's music, religious services, and she comes to mom's room and encourages her to come.

I chose this community for my mom because of the cleanliness and the atmosphere. The lady that cares for my mom has been absolutely fantastic. They're always doing activities with the residents and the staff sent me an activity calendar for the month and they have one posted in my mom's room as well. Maintenance has been pretty good in helping us with my mom's move in. Overall it's been a good experience for my mom.

From the management to activities and healthcare, everything has been pretty good. I have been in several communities like this and the housekeeping here is definitely above average

Management is very devoted to their mission and they care, so they're very good at their jobs. The healthcare staff is always right on it and always call me, so they're very attentive. When I visit, everything at the community functions, works well and if there is a maintenance issue, things are solved quickly. His room is always nice and the bedding is changed constantly, so the place is kept neat.

Their food is very good and mom loves it.Portia, the activities director, is wonderful and always has a smile on her face. She has so much energy and enthuasism. I think the way they set up their pricing is great. It is one flat fee for the room and board and then you pay for the level of care. You aren't nickel and dimed.

My sister is comfortable there and I feel she is safe. I like the care givers, they are friendly and knowledgeable. I know Nancy in housekeeping tries to keep her room clean. They do have dining menu variety and they will always make a hamburger or grilled cheesed if she's not happy with the main menu. The staff members here really like people.

I am happy because he is happy. They are all friendly, courteous and answered all my questions. I have never felt pressured. The community is updated and modern and isn't dreary. It doesn't look faded and that is important to me. That is a reflection of how you present to your customers. His room was painted, the carpets were cleaned and the windows were washed before we moved in. It looks very nice.

Right now it is worth it, she gets three square meals and has people taking care of her. Anytime I have called them they have either answered or called me right back. They have been really supportive. I had lunch there and I would have ordered what I was served in a restaurant and I ate everything on my plate. So far they've been wonderful.

I would say that it is not the cheapest facility but I have been in other facilities that are cheaper and they are not as nice as this place. One thing that we like about his apartment is that it doesn't have a strong institutional feel. It feels more like a residence. It is a well-managed facility. The activities are frequent. Daily there is something going on. From the standpoint of the family they have the holiday parties and events that can involve families. Those are very nicely done. It is one of the strengths of the activities. The care givers seem very conscientious.

My dad seems to feel happy at Harbour Senior Living of South Hills. The care people are fantastic and they go out of their way to make sure he is comfortable. I haven't had anything bad to say about them because he seems to like and enjoy everyone he deals with up there because they make sure that everything with him is good. In terms of maintenance, I don't see too much around that is in bad condition and when we moved in, the maintenance staff had his TV quickly installed for him. With regards to cleanliness, everything seems to be very clean in his room and they come often, so it's been kept fairly clean. For what he does, he enjoys the activities and the staff brings him down to the gazebo. As per the dining experience, the menu seems like it's a good menu, the food is much better than what he was doing before and the service is satisfactory. With management, They're very caring and management on the Legacy floor is very accessible and friendly, including the person in charge of everything. Also, the concierge people seem to be really friendly and they care about what they're doing, so overall it's been a wonderful experience for him.
