The Groves, A Merrill Gardens Community

The management staff is just taking care of me. I feel comfortble notifying them of any complaints. We go to the store twice a week and so far it's been excellent. I think housekeeping and maintenance have been excellent as well.

I looked at about seven different communities before I selected the Grove, I felt like there was a lot more energy, activity and interactions within the caregivers, so that was the reason I chose the Grove, I'm very positive about what's going on there with my wife and her care at this point. Everything I've seen in dining has been very, very good, she had scrambled eggs, bacon and french toast for breakfast. I saw her room today, the bed was made and clean, everything was as it should be, that's been excellent. Every time I'm there she's dressed nicely, she seems happier, this was a good move for her and me. She's had several friends visit her and they've been very impressed as well.

I've been living here for almost two years safe and comfortable, and everything’s great. There's bingo, there's exercise. You just name it; they've got a lot of activities. Housekeeping just came today. They always vacuum, clean the mirrors, and do everything they’re supposed to. They launder my bedding and that's excellent. Management, dining, maintenance, they're all great; everything is great as it is.

I am satisfied with management here. The food is good and there are plenty of activities to participate in. It is all about what you like to do. They offer outings once in a while for shopping. The cleaning of my apartment has been fine with me. Maintenance has responded timely to any issue I have had. All in all, my stay here has been fine so far.

I feel the price is quite fair. Management is wonderful to work with and are lovely. The food is pretty good and there is good variety in the menu. This community offers outings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to go to different stores. Housekeeping and maintenance does a pretty good job. The building looks very good. The transportation is good and I pay this community extra to distribute my medications, but everything else I do for myself.

In my opinion I think it is a fair price. He is getting everything taken care of. Everybody has been real helpful. I think the food is very good. The times that I have come to sit with my father while he is eating, the staff will ask if I want anything to drink and I think that is very nice. They really pay attention to the diners needs in dining. I really love that my father can eat anytime from 7am-7pm. The activities are a very nice variety. He has been to the gambling casino one day. He likes the Movie Theater and happy hour. The clothes from laundry come back all folded, looking and smelling nice. The maintenance staff is so fast. If you have a problem with the cable or something they are just there instantaneously. The care staff is real timely and caring. One of the nursing assistants asked if we would bring some lotion so they could put some lotion on his feet. They alert us to things that maybe we don't observe or think about. They are very caring. I just think there is a lot of interaction and it is really lovely.

I chose this community for my sister because it provided the care type she needed. The management staff is good to listen to the needs and questions of my sister and take care of it right away. The housekeeping is pretty good. They do the sheets and towels and I do the clothing. Mike and Dave, the maintenance men, were quick to help set up my sister's TV and phone. The inside of the community is decorated for the holidays and is always neat and clean. It was easy to speak with the nurse about getting my sister into physical therapy and she helped me get that all set up. The aides are good and chit chat with her and they are usually pretty prompt in responding to the button.

I chose this community because it was something I could afford, I like the restaurant style meals, and I can use my computer in my room. I have had all my needs met by management. When I have asked questions I have gotten a favorable response. I think the servers in the dining room are very friendly. The maintenance staff keeps everything neat and very clean in and around the building.

Since my grandfather has been at the community I haven’t had much interaction with management, but the ones I have are good. My grandfather likes the ice cream they serve him in dining. The servers there know what he likes. That is helpful because he can’t see to read the menu and they will help read it to him. He likes going to watch the movies with the activities. The housekeeping staff is real helpful. He will spill and make messes that he tries to clean up himself and he is unsuccessful. They will come and clean it up. The care staff is good about contacting me when he is running out of something or just to let me know what is going on.

I am overall happy and my mom is happy there. I have been very satisfied with the activities. The transportation staff takes her to church and she has been enjoying that.
