The Groves, A Merrill Gardens Community

We chose The Groves for my dad because it's a convenient location to where I live and it was a little more affordable than other communities. The care givers check on him every day, and maintenance set up his TV, that was excellent. My dad is very happy with the dining and is very pleased with the food. I am sure they offer enough activities. The housekeeping has been excellent. Everybody has been kind, respectful, and very helpful. It's a nice community. The value is totally acceptable, and I know my dad is safe, and he feels comfortable there.

I'd move in there if I could. It is a beautiful place. It is always clean and smells good. I can't afford to live in my own home for the price that my father pays to live there. Plus, he gets three squares a day, cable TV and all that good stuff. His apartment is nice. He has a one bedroom studio. It is very accessible, he can control his temperature. He has everything he needs right there. I think the front desk lady is very nice. My father never complains about the food. When I have been there when he is eating it looks good. The staff is always attentive to what he needs. My dad is 91 and I will say he loves the bingo. The activities are there for him to enjoy. His linens get changed and his room is cleaned. The community is gorgeous. They keep the landscape up; I don't know how they keep it so nice.

It took me a while to get used to living here but now that I am used it I like it very much. I get in contact with management when I need something and they help me. They are very nice about it. I think the activities here are very nice. They give us something to do. I think the housekeeping department is very good. They come when they are supposed to on Monday and they do a very good. When I have needed the maintenance staff they have been here and have done an excellent job. The building here is very well maintained.

The price is a little high but the services they offer makes the price reasonable for the area. I feel safe at this community. Management is always there when you need them. The food is really good. There are some times when I don't like what was cooked but I work around it. There are always hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches. There is always something you can eat if you don't like what was cooked. The servers are very good. They do their job very fast and courteously. The cleaning is okay and the building is always beautiful. The transportation is always on time, get me there on time and pick me up. They order my meds and give them to me morning and night. I always tell people how nice it is.

The value was pretty good and was one of the reasons why my dad went there in the first place. Management seemed nice and responsive to everything. I loved the dining. I ate there a few times with him and I liked it. As far as I know they had activities and the community is very nice. The caregivers were interacting with him a lot and had him out of his room a lot.

The service has been good, I like my apartment, everything has been good, no complaints at all. I just think the food has been good and the service from the waiters and waitresses has been good. I've heard the activities are pretty good. I’ve used the shuttle bus a couple of times and it seemed to be pretty good. Housekeeping has been good. It's been really, very good. I think the maintenance has also been really good. I am very happy here, and very satisfied.

Everybody is so friendly and that is one of the reasons we went there. That and the anytime dining. My husband really likes that. They decorated the building beautifully for Christmas. Everything always looks immaculate. As far as I know everything is good in terms of housekeeping. I am not there any length of time but I haven't noticed anything. He hasn't complained at all. He is happy they take care of him. My husband uses the transportation to go to the store every once in a while and that works out good for him.

We moved my dad in for the location and becuase of the feeling we got after the tour. The Groves is a comparable place to others we looked at for Dad. The management is meeting the expectations we had. I think the food is really great. The housekeeping department is doing a good job keeping Dad's room clean. The maintenance came in to hook his TV up and had that done right away. The building is very clean and looks like it is well kept. I haven't seen any issues with the care staff and the way they handle my Dad.

My son went around to five different places and found this one and said this one was the one for me and he was right, I'm very happy here. Everyone here is very nice. If I had any issues at all I would talk to someone and I'm sure it would be well taken care of. The chef comes around and stopped by to see how it was going in the dining room. I can't complain about anything.

We chose the community for Mom for a few reasons. One, it is very close to where I live. Two, the appearance was good from the outside and three, when we went into the facility we were greeted like we were important. It was a very pleasant experience from the get go. I have observed a church service and some holiday singing with the activities. They had a delay on getting her bed delivered and the maintenance was good about getting her a temporary bed set up and moving them around when hers arrived. The people I have met from the care staff seem to know my mother and seem to care about her. I think the care here is pretty good.
