The Groves, A Merrill Gardens Community

The people here are very nice. They are all good and they care. If I have anything that needs fixed by maintenance, I mention it to the desk and it gets taken care of.

Management has good communication, the food is good and convienient, housekeeping is great and the caregivers are very good and seem to care.

I'm very happy that they have a bus that takes people out to go to the store and things like that. The transportation seems to be reliable taking residents to go shopping and taking my mom to her doctors, that is really helpful. For the size of the community, the newness of the community, and the services and amenities offered, I think it's the right price. It's bright and open, people can easily access without stumbling over anything.

I chose this community for my mom because of the overall ambiance of the program, the friendliness and just feeling at ease during our tour. Management has been very personable and has answered any questions we've had.

The food is great and she has gained weight since she has moved there. The dining people are real respectful and will always get what you want. They do good with the activities. If they don't have an activity in memory care they will take her over to the assisted side to participate. The people who are taking care of her are doing a great job. They don't just treat her like resident, they treat her like a friend.

Most of the caregivers are very good, especially the ones that have been there for a while. I have always found them to be very pleasant and respectful. When I talk to the care givers they listen to me and address my concerns fairly quickly.

The appearance of the building always looks good and the maintenance person seems to respond. My mom does participate in a lot of the activities and she seems pleased with the housekeeping. The healthcare staff was very attentive when she needed them a few weeks ago.

I thought the price for the single room and the meals was very good. Management are very nice and very helpful. We left the community because she needed more daily care and she was in the independent section. The service in dining was great. The variety as far as I know was okay. I think there was enough activities to participate in. The housekeeping and laundry service was good. The building was very nice. Maintenance did a good job. I have been to lots of assisted living and nursing homes and this is very nice.

We felt that dad was constantly wanting to go home, so we decided to put him into a more homey atmosphere in residential care. We were satisfied with management, they’re respectful and accessible, that’s their personal care. We’re satisfied with dining, there’s variety on the menu, very good service, and the food is phenomenal. Activities are very good and we’re satisfied with housekeeping and maintenance services they provided. The caregivers are attentive and caring; they truly cared about my father and his well-being. Dad was safe and comfortable, the value is good.

The staff is outstanding, they made it very comfortable for us, we talked with Karina, people went out of their way. We brought my dad out and he really enjoyed it, he enjoyed going down to the dining hall. It's very clean, that's probably what impressed us the most. I like that Memory Care is there but you can't tell it's there, it doesn't look like a nursing home, and we’re really pleased. We feel this facility is better than other ones we went to and the pricing was affordable, so that also helped us make the decision. They do a lot of activities, which we think is great and they're doing a great job cleaning his apartment. The healthcare services are excellent, he loves it there. For the pricing and what you get, I think it's wonderful and thank you so much for being affordable. I can't say enough how happy I am and how excellent the service is, we really do appreciate everything everybody does there, they make it a very welcoming home environment for my dad. He's very comfortable, it's a great facility, we're really pleased and really happy we found it.
