Dorian Place Assisted Living

I think that they do a fine job and I think they've worked very well with me and my father so that he can age in place. I think they've worked very well to have it work out well for me too, and I do appreciate that. I really think the value is good and the price is fair for the area.

Management has been very accommodating and professional and when I ask my brother how the food is he says it is good. His room always looks good and so do his clothes. We are satisfied with the price, the community and the location.

I would like to thank them for taking care of my mom. She has dementia so I know it is not easy for them sometimes. To deal with someone with dementia is difficult. The care givers and the staff there have such patience. They are blessed to have the patience to be able to do that. My mom has been there for two years and I think if I hadn't put her there she wouldn't be here right now.

Everybody has done a wonderful job here. My brother says that the food is good and there's a good variety. Every time I have gone down there his room is clean and his dirty clothes have been washed. The building is very good and the caregivers are very accessible and responsive.

The management is very accessible. They have all been very good. They are respectful and knowledgeable. The dining staff is made up of lovely and wonderful people. The service is timely, and the menu variety is good. She loves when young kinds come in to sing and loves when people come in to play music. She just loves the staff here. She loves the people that come in to clean. The building is in good shape. She feels very safe here because the caregivers check on her twice every night. From what I have seen with other places, I think the price is very comparable.

The transportation is a plus for us. So far, she's had three rides to doctor's visits, which has been excellent. As far as I can tell, maintenance has been very good. Housekeeping does her room once a week and they generally do a pretty decent job. We are very pleased with the management. The manager has been very helpful. Everyone we have dealt with there has been extremely easy to work with.

I'm very happy with management, they're easy to talk to and have good follow through. They always have a nice variety of food and it looks good. They have group activities going all the time and it's always clean and nice. My dad is really comfortable, they call him by name and are always tending to him. Everything is going smoothly, he's very happy. It's always clean and nice, it's an older building but I think it's as good as you can get; I'm very pleased with it.

I just recently asked my mother if she was happy at Dorian Place Assisted Living and she said yes, so she feels safe and comfortable at the community. The value is reasonable because when I checked other places, the prices were all about the same. Regarding her care, the medtechs are pretty good and while there are no CNAs that I know of, the caregivers are pretty good too. In terms of activities, the staff do all sorts of different things with the residents there and while I wish she'd participate more, there are things offered for her to participate. With regards to maintenance, I am satisfied with the building condition and when my mom needed new blinds, the maintenance department got right on it and within a few days, she had a new one up. With the dining experience, the quality of the food is good and the service is good as well, with management being responsive, so overall it's been a good experience for her at the community.

We were having a hard time finding a place that would say they would reach out and help my sister and Dorian did. They have worked with us real good. I feel comfortable with my sister there. I have seen them bringing in the laundry quite a bit. Her room always smells nice and she is real incontinent and they take care of that real well. It isn't bad to go in there because it is always real clean and nice. The nurses call me several times and that is good. We talk about things and they seem to take advice because I have dealt with my sister for a long time. I haven't had any problems. I have had a great experience there. They may have to put her in nursing care because she is stretching the assisted. They have done all they can do and we appreciate it.

It was a community I do business with, so that's why we chose it for my mom. My mom seems to be ok with the food. From what I have seen the food looks pretty nice. She is enjoying the activities. She was playing dominos this morning with some of the other girls. I know that she has been involved in another activity. That all adds to their mental health. In regards to housekeeping, they are doing a nice job as far as I am concerned. It doesn't smell when you walk in. The care givers have been real good. The girls here have been excellent to work with and they know that it takes time to do the paperwork and they are willing to work with that. My mom doesn't have any long term care and they have been helping me get her on Medicaid. That is a joy for them to at least help you and tell you how to do something.
