Dorian Place Assisted Living

My sister has been there over nine years now. They do a really good job with dining, there are different options each day. They do what they can to keep people active with the activities. Laundry and housekeeping is very good, and maintenance keeps the community looking really good. The care staff seems to be really courteous and know what they're doing. Overall, my sister is safe and comfortable in her apartment there.

I haven’t had any problems since I've been here, and I've been here going on five years. The food is pretty good and we have good activities. We have table games, dominos, bingo, Yahtzee! and other things. We have fitness, bowling, gold, beanbag toss, beanbag baseball, a lot of activities here. I have no problems with the maintenance staff, or with laundry or housekeeping. We have real good transportation here when you need to go to the doctor. I’m satisfied with the care staff; I get all the attention I need. It's a pretty good price; I have a nice little apartment. I'm proud to invite people here, because I am happy here.

It is well worth what we have to pay to be here and I am very happy with my apartment. Management has all been so good to me and they are very friendly and helpful. They are really good. The food is wonderful. I like everything that I have had here so far. The portions are real good sized. There is plenty here to keep you busy if you want to be. There is a good variety of things to do too. Housekeeping comes in and dumps my trash every day. They vacuum my floors. They are really good and they stay on top of it. Maintenance got my call system set up and brought in a shower chair for me. They have been really good too. The caregivers are all very helpful and they treat you with a lot of respect and dignity. They are really good.

The staff at this community is very attentive to everything my dad needs. The management has addressed any concerns I've had and alway keep me updated on his condition. The building is always clean. I'm very pleased with it. I think everyone does a very good job here.

There is a lot of stuff that they offer for the people who are there. The staff communicate with me if something is wrong or if I have a problem. They are good about calling and communicating with me to get stuff fixed. There is always somebody there. For a big community, they do the best they can. I'm appreciateive of the girls, the nurses, and management. My dad was a hard man to get along with. A lot of the staff would call me when there was a concern because of the fact that he wouldn't let them in the room or he would tell them to get out. They were always trying to be on top of it if they saw something was out of the ordinary. I think they did the best they could with the situation. The caretakers are good with my mom. She is wheelchair bound and they get her up and get her dressed. They're pretty good about it all.

At the community I'd say the quality of the food is pretty good. They have a lot of activities but my mother does not partake in them. Maintenance is good, we haven't had any problems. The staff team appears to be accessible and responsive.

My mom is very comfortable. The food is great for her. Whenever anything needs repair, the maintenance staff is very responsive. The nurse is very good. She is helpful and responsive. The caregivers are very caring and have a lot of common sense. The lady at the beauty salon is wonderful and goes and gets my mom and does her hair. She likes it there which is the most important thing for me.

I think it's excellent here, I like it. I have already recommended it. I just love everybody here, and the staff has all been good to me. I think the food is excellent. I get a variety. I get anything I want. If I don’t like what's on the menu I can just go to the window and order some more. We have a lot of activities around here. And on holidays we have barbecues, things like that. The transportation is good; they get me rides when I need it. I love all of the caregivers, they're excellent. When I need them, they're there. I'm very satisfied here.

I have recommended it to a few people already and in Ontario, it's still the best place. They have a lot of activities and my mom participates in a lot of them. They have good structure, do them very well and also try and include the most people they can. The housekeeping has been great. Besides dealing with her particular-ness, they help her with various things she asks for help with. The hallways never stink and it's kept clean. It was good for the time it was needed.

They seem to be doing everything they can to make my husband comfortable. The care services are really good. They check in on him at night and stuff to make sure he's doing okay. They take his blood pressure which is good. If there is a problem, they'll let me know. I'm glad that they do that. They have good food and good activities, even though he is not one to participate. The building maintenance is fine. I think they do well there.
