Wellsprings Assisted Living

My mom has lived at Wellsprings for over 1 year. Mom doesn't go to all of the activities because she's 104 years old so the activities are probably as good as they could be. Housekeeping does a good job because my mom's room is always clean. We haven't had any problems, so I guess it's been okay.

I chose to move my moom into Wellsprings because her sister had lived there and she loved it. So far the management staff communicates and the housekeeping is very good. Maintenance and dining is also good. My mom is well taken care of and she loves it.

We moved my mother into this community because some friends of our had a loved one stay there before and we felt like it would be a good place to put my mom. The staff were really professional and helpful. Management's communication is really good and really prompt. Marlene, the director, is really friendly and patient. She has been fantastic. The food is great. My mom is happy with it. She seems to be enjoying the activities that she is doing. Tim, the maintenance man, is fantastic and very fast. He is very prompt. The building looks wonderful. They take good care of it. The care givers are doing very well.

I would definitely recommend it. The salad bar was wonderful. They fed us very well. They always put the menu on the wall so we could see what was being served. If we didn't want something, they would leave it off so it wouldn't get wasted. I loved the activities. I miss them so much. They would call over the intercom to announce what they were getting ready to do. There was not a time where there was not something going on. They kept us busy. The housekeeping was Johnny-on-the-spot. They cleaned my room on Mondays and did my laundry for me. They spoiled me a lot. They always reminded me of my appointments and would pick me up on time. They always picked me up at the doctor's office. The caretakers always had my meds on time and they took real good care of me. They always made sure I was okay and would check on me. It was really a great place.

The caretakers help her with her showers, shoes and socks, and other things. She has skin cancer on her nose, they caught it bleeding and one of the care takers called me to let me know they were working on that. As far as I'm aware it seems to be consistent and entertaining and the food is great. As far as I can see it's the best value in Ontario for the services and accommodations offered.

The price is fair for the services we're getting. Mom's on Medicaid, so I know she's getting a good deal. I can call any time we have concerns. I appreciate that, and the Director's very responsive. There is a great variety of activities. The Activities Director has non-stop energy; she's been there 30 years. She loves the residents and would bend over backwards to accommodate their individual needs as far as activities go. She's always got something going on. Some of the care staff go above and beyond. I think the overall condition of the building is pretty good.

I love it here. I'm well taken care of. They keep us busy and we're never bored. We play Bingo and Dominos, and we go for walks and get mild exercise. The caregivers are respectful and knowledgeable and they bring me my medication every night. I don't drive anymore, so I depend on the transportation. They make sure I have a ride for all of my appointments, and they've been really good. They're wonderful. The housekeepers vacuum and dust and take care of everything.

Since my mother has been there I haven't had any problems with the management or housekeeping staff. She seems to like the food. They have a calendar that shows what is going on every day and the girls will come in on those days and ask her if she wants to go if she has not shown up.
