Locust Grove Personal Care & Memory Care

It's great, it's nice there, I would live there, and it’s like living in a nice hotel. Management has all been very friendly, helpful and nice. Any time my mom needs them, they'll come in her room if she has any questions, they're very nice here, and any time I need to call them, they answer and call me back. The staff is very friendly; the ladies in charge of the activities make sure everyone is involved. So far everything has been clean, housekeeping takes my mom's garbage out, they vacuum and wash her clothes, the place is really pretty inside, and it’s not dirty and doesn't have any smells. Anything my mom needs, maintenance will come in and do it for her, and they’ve been very friendly and helpful. Everyone has been very helpful, they go in my mom's room and anything she needs, they're there.

This community was chosen for my mom because my wife's grandmother lived there and we knew a few other people who had lived there. Based on this communities competitors, it is probably a better value. The management seems to be very good. They have been helpful in guiding us through and showing us the community. The food and service seems to be good. The staff is very helpful. They ask the residents what their needs are and they seem to provide for them. This community puts a good effort into helping the residents and getting them involved in the programs that are available. There is a schedule with the programs that are going to happen that day. This community seems to be pretty clean and everything has been in working order. The care has been very good.

I am happy and my dad seems to be content. He doesn't ask to come home anymore and seems like he enjoys it there. He seems happy in his space. It took him some time to adjust but he does feel safe and comfortable there. It seems like there is a variety and the food is very good. There are always a couple options to choose from. This community has a good variety of activities for the residents. Housekeeping is on point, the laundry has been fine and the building is well maintained. The caregivers seem to really care about the residents. They are very patient with them and help them with what they need help with. They have a difficult job but they handle it well.

Before I brought my sister to Locust Grove, I took her a lot of different places to see what was out there. I think for the money that we're paying, it's in a nice place, the staff is good, everybody treats her fine, I think it's a good value, I really do, in comparison to other places I have looked at. Other places are extremely small, the rooms are very small. Her place is very large, which is very nice, it's clean, there's no odor and those places have a lot less to offer. Management have always been there for me and answered everything that I needed. The Director of Activities does a good job with them, they're very attentive and caring and I think they have a good variety of things that they do. Maintenance is excellent, those two guys, John is wonderful and the Head of Maintenance. Any time she's had a problem, they are there, all she has to do is say something, within five or ten minutes they're there and fix the problem. These guys are wonderful and are also very patient and caring. I think the staff is phenomenal, they're excellent, they take very, very good care of their patients, and they have terrific patience. I think it's a very safe environment and they're very conscious of different safety measures.

The general approachability of the management was important when we were looking for a place for my mom and I'm satisfied with their service. It's very good that they're doing activities with the residents.

We were very impressed when we visited with how the staff interacts with the residents. We thought it was very clean, there was no odor, and we loved the dining facility. We felt as though they treated the residents like they were living in an IL facility as opposed to a personal care home or nursing home atmosphere. We've dealt primarily with Michael and Lisa and they have listened to any of our concerns and addressed it immediately. My mother says the food is very good, we ate there the day she moved in and we were quite impressed that everybody who worked there came out to introduce themselves. They encourage my mother to participate in activities, they've kept her very busy, and she’s been more active than she has been in the last year. She's having fun so that's a good thing, we wanted her to be stimulated and she's being stimulated there.

It was one out of three that we looked at and we really liked how it looked homey and the people seemed really nice. It seemed clean and I heard about how good the food was. Management seemed to answer any questions we had and were friendly and courteous, I was happy with them. My mother in law has been participating in the activities every day; they've been getting her to do that. I think you do get what you pay for, they get three good meals and it's a really nice place.

Management was responsive with any of my mother's needs and any time I called. They were prompt in providing answers or service. My mother enjoys talking with the servers. This community posted a calendar of events in multiple places around the community so they would easily be seen by the residents. Anytime I was there, the community was exceptionally clean and I never saw anything out of place or needing attention. Some water leaked in during a storm and maintenance was prompt in getting things repaired. The building and landscaping always looked very nice. The caregivers were accommodating if anything was needed.

Whatever they're paying, it's worth it. It's woth every penny. I like the management; they listens to any concerns and that's important. My mom's not a big participator, but she likes bingo and crafts. The caretakers are taking care of my mom and they're really good. Cindy and Jane are just above and beyond. Everything is always clean and fine in terms of laundry and as soon as you ask for something, maintenance fixes it.

I'm very pleased with the service and care my wife is getting. The food and the management of it is fine. The caregivers are excellent, maintenance too, and the housekeepers are efficient, kind, and considerate. I'm sure what I pay is well worth it for the services Locust Grove provides. I couldn’t be happier than I am right now with it.
