Emerald Springs

I chose it because with the Memory Care I know long term it would satisfy her needs. It is the best place for her. This has been my first experience and the management staff has been helpful. It is a difficult situation when you have to put a parent into Assisted Living. Everybody's door is always open and there is always somebody there to help me with any problem I have. I think her apartment is very clean. I am not positive on the laundry, sometimes she wants to do it herself, but when they do it it's fine. The staff is really friendly and the place is well-kept. As far as the grass, trees and all, it is kept up. The decorations were great. The nurse ahd a great conversation with her recently and she was saying that she loved it there. I have a lot of confidence in their medical, getting her out, whether she is eating and all. They have so much patience. They have always been able to help right away. I'm ready to retire there someday.

Emerald Springs is the most expensive one in Yuma but in my mind it is worth every dime because Mom gets excellent care. This is home to Mom. They take care of my mother. They are top of what needs to be done with her. Any questions or concerns they call me. The food is great. I have had lunch there. My mother loves the food. They have some of the TVs tuned to shows that these folks remember. They have them do crafts and exercises. They do a lot of things with them in activities. The housekeeping is great. They pay attention to the clothing. She is never behind in her laundry and her bed is always clean. It is clean and smells pleasant. She has used the transportation to go to rehab. Somebody always goes with her and it has always been excellent. The driver is always very good with them. As far as I am concerned Emerald Springs is the top. Everybody there is good.

I have looked at other places for my mom, but Emerald Springs is comparable to other communities with the services she is getting there. I think the apartment is great because it's big enough so that she doesn't feel claustrophobic, but small enough so that she isn't overwhelmed with clutter, so it's perfect for her and the price is satisfactory. She says the servers during dining are extremely polite and they know her name, bringing her the same breakfast she orders every morning, so they know things like that. There are also lots of activities offered at the community. I like that they have a daily sheet of having what is available and letting the residents know what is going on, so they do a good job with that. There is a nice variety and she loves going down for donuts every week, which I think is her favorite one, but she does also participate in exercise. Laundry is satisfactory and I had mentioned to maintenance that there was a cover for the AC that wasn't in good shape, but they got right on it and painted over it, so she was pleased with that. In terms of her care, the staff is very friendly and with the button, while my mother hasn't used it, they're right on top of it. Overall, when I come, I am always greeted and everyone is always very nice, so it's been a pleasant experience.
