The Breakers at Edgewater Beach

My father's pretty happy there. Everything looks like it's in great shape. The maintenance guy mounted a tv for him and hung some pictures for him, and the guy really knew what he was doing. His place is always clean, and he always has clean clothes. He participates in some of the activities. He goes out on the bus trips and he likes the happy hours and the movies. They have a good variety and they're well planned. I think the management is excellent in every way I've interacted with them. He's very comfortable and feels very safe there; we visit him there all the time. I do think it's a good value.

We fell in love with it. I don't think I could get this anywhere else for the price, I'm getting a bargain. I feel like a queen and I feel like I'm living in a luxury hotel. I highly recommend it. I think it's a fantastic place. I never would have dreamed I could get into a place like this. I reported something one day, and the maintenance staff came the very next day. Leah is the sweetest housekeeper, and she does everything. She's perfect. I love the dining room. It's absolutely gorgeous. Everybody's very nice, and helpful, and polite. They always tell me the right thing. We looked at it and fell in love with it. I love the real plants and the palm trees. I love everything about this place. I enjoy all the activities. The people are real friendly.

It is very good; I can't imagine it being any better. I was walking in the neighborhood and walked in the door and fell in love with it, it's so beautiful. I think the food is excellent. The management staff has all been very helpful, polite and seems to be doing their jobs. I haven't been able to get much involved yet because I haven't been here that long.

I find the community of all of the staff is very nice to be with. I feel like their goal in management is to make this place a melting pot with people that like getting to know other people from other backgrounds. There's a spirit here that makes me feel really good. The activities team is really great. I love the exercise activities, they really help me. Even people in wheelchairs are coming and they can hardly move, but they move what they can. Christine's classes are great; she's a wonderful teacher and has great enthusiasm. And Jessica and Christine do their very best to provide wonderful programs. We can make suggestions and they try and carry them out. They're working very hard. I love the type of residents here, I can meet people of different colors and backgrounds, and we can respect and honor each other and get to know one another, and I think that's a really special part of this place.

I don't think other places are any better than The Breakers. The transportation services are wonderful. The driver is so nice, we love him. I think they do a great job overall with the activities. They offer activities both inside the facility and outings, which I really enjoy. I haven't had a problem with maintenance. They are very responsive. When I had to have repairs done, they came in a timely manner.

The location is great. We looked at four or five other places and the perks here compared to others, like parking offered off-street, the location, everything I'm really glad we made the decision to move in. The housekeepers come every Tuesday and the lady who handles our floor is really good. She cleans our unit while we're at breakfast and does a great job. My wife and I like the sit-and-stretch exercises, and the workout room is good. It's great you can go down and work out on your own. And we have live music every Saturday night. And there's a small movie theater in here with a movie every night, sometimes two or three times a day. Once you know what to order it's great. I love oatmeal and I always get it, you can't beat it.

My dad loves it. I moved my dad cross country from the east coast to Chicago, and it was a total different change for him, but he thanks me every day. I worked the closest with the move-in coordinator, and I want to give her big kudos. She really made the day and made my father feel comfortable, and made the move-in smooth. It always looks clean when I come to visit. The housekeepers are consistent with their services and they come every Friday. He participates in activities. He goes to the movies and he goes to the special shows that they have. I haven't heard anything bad from my dad; he does like the food there and the menu options. I think it's a great value for what it is. He just loves it there.

I am very satisfied with the value. The housekeeping ladies are wonderful, very good and very helpful. They're consistent and very helpful I'm very satisfied. The maintenance guys are very helpful as well. There's a variety of things to do and it appeals to a lot of people's different interests. With my limited interaction with the management staff, I'd say they're pretty good. They seem pretty competent and helpful.

I am glad that I'm here and I would recommend it to other people. Considering it's not my house, I do feel very safe here. I'm absolutely very satisfied with the maintenance staff. Something happened, and my daughter made a request Sunday night and I think Monday morning or Monday afternoon someone was there to fix it. I do use the housekeeping services and I'm very satisfied. I think there are a good variety of activities. I'm not interested in them all, but at least they're there. I am pretty satisfied with the management staff and I do feel very safe here.

The staff is incredibly nice, and they're much more like a community than other places, which is the number one reason why we chose it, are that the staff felt more like a community than like service people. The housekeeper is so lovely to my mother and is very consistent. My mother is such a sassy gal. She's not your typical senior citizen. She loves the movies, she thinks they're fabulous. She's very happy with the food and the situation in the dining room. I think the management staff has been responsive and very kind to all of the residents. I think it is a good value.
