Bentley Commons at Bedford

My mother has been at Bentley Commons at Bedford for 6 months and while that isn't a long time, she is fitting in well at the community. They're so proactive with not letting anything slide, whether it's a meal or activity, so they're very good about making sure everyone's needs are met. The management team is nice, caring, responsive and outgoing. We are always met with a smile and the Executive Director is a tremendous lady as is the lady in accounting because she is very good too. We had an issue, but she worked with us to make sure everything was resolved to their satisfaction as well as ours, so I can't say enough good things about the management staff. My siblings and I think the food, including the choices, are very good and we're satisfied with the service presented in the dining experience. Her care is going well and I think it's a well-run program in terms of the activities, the calendar is full of stuff and the activities offered are very good. Her housekeeping is going good, they handle her linens very good and they're very prompt with being on schedule, so overall I would say we're very happy with the value.

As far as I know, everything is fine. The food is good. From what I understand the activities are pretty good and the housekeeping is good. My father's apartment I have never seen it dirty. The aides are very good. I think he loves them all.

I think this was a hard move to make but it was a very good move to make. We don't worry about my mother because we know she is safe, eating and making friends. I think it is a good thing for her. Her happiness is worth what we are paying and my mom is happy. Management is willing to listen to my mom and they have tried to make adjustments to things. They know me when I come in by name. They are doing a good job. I usually run into them when I am there and if not then I will leave a message for them and they will call me back. The quality of the food is good and generally there is a starch, a protein and a carbohydrate. The activities are very good. She has made friends there that go to the activities so she goes and ends up having an enjoyable time. She enjoys going to bingo now. We have a generally positive attitude towards the activities. The cleaning is fine and the appearance of both the exterior and the interior is fine. I think she feels safe and she likes the man who is employed to drive the bus. He is patient with her and they have a friendship. The caregivers love her, know her name and talk to her.

We were looking for assisted living and it turned out to be the only alternative near my house. The management was cooperative and helpful. They tried to do everything that we needed to prepare the apartment for the wheelchair. They did things to make it easier to get around. Bentley Commons furnished the place. They changed the bed around to make it easier to move around in the wheelchair. They helped us a lot from when she had to transfer from the previous place. The staff were much more professional then from where my sister came from which was a nursing home environment. In regards to the activities, there is always something going on and all different alternatives going on. They have exercise, entertainment and other things. They take people to the dollar store once a week and to the grocery store. The housekeepers do everything that they are supposed to do. They do the laundry once a week and they vacuum and dust once a week. They dump the trash every day and they replace toilet paper. The housekeeping is very good. The maintenance staff is so responsive. They are great. It is amazing. One time a guy came in after his work hours to check on something. They are excellent and they always fix things. You report it and it gets done. It is a huge relief off of family to know that my mom is taken care of in a more positive environment.

My wife and I moved into this community because my daughter recommended it. The breakfasts are genuinely very good and the housekeeping is very good. They do our laundry most of the time but sometimes I do it. The building looks well maintained and the care has been fine.

Management is very attentive to the residents and they take care of us. The food is okay. There is a good variety in the menu and the service is good. The servers work very hard. There are a lot of activities that you can participate in. My laundry is done every Monday. It is brought back to me and is very nicely folded. All I have to do is take it out of my basket and put it away. The housekeeping is very good too. They work very hard. The building is well maintained and the transportation is very nice. The nursing is very good. They are right there when you need them and that is the most important thing. They are very attentive to the residents.

I have no complaint about the value. What ever I have asked for I have gotten. If I ever have a problem it is taken care of. The actvities are excellent and numerous. The in house activities are very good. The laundry has been excellent and the room is always kept clean and I can't complain about that. The care has been outstanding. When I came here I was given a choices to have my meds given to me and I can't say anything wrong about that. It has been excellent.

"My mother loves it here. She is Italian and so is the cook so she is loving the food. I have joined her myself a few time and found it to be really good. Mom is a very active lady and so far she has been able to stay busy here with all the activities they offer. All the staff here have been very nice and good at their jobs."

My wife and I moved into Bentley Commons just over one month ago and this community is as good as you get. Management is outstanding and the whole atmosphere is excellent. The food is excellent, it's always on time, hot and well done and the servers are outstanding. They do an excellent job with the laundry and the housekeeping is really good as well.

Every time my father talks to me, he says he couldn't be happier at this community. The servers are very kind to my father and the care staff are very sweet. Housekeeping and laundry are primo, they do a great job. The maintenance guy plants flowers and he does a great job as well. I hope they keep up the great work!
